A benchmark rely greatly on a set of standard data and queries that are jointly used for all systems under evaluation.
In our case, we therefore need to identify one or more image sets on which to express standard queries and obtain ground truth.
Image collection
If we wish to use and distribute the image collection as we wish, we need to emancipate from copyrights and other distribution restrictions.
Few (if any) collection match these requirements.
We therefore have taken the direction of creating our own image sets.

Standard queries
None defined formally yet. However, a list of CBIR challenges has been compiled and may serve as a starting point for reflexion.
